Trail Tech Tachometer installation
Hi guys
Just wondering if anybody else has installed a trail tech vapor and had the tacho working.
I ordered a new Tachometer sensor cable from them which arrived today but when i have gone to install it i am having some problems, the Tachometer sensor cable is the same as the power cable and has nowhere to be plugged in
This is the only spare plug there is
And this is the Tacho sensor cable
Do i have to choose between the power or the tacho or something or am i missing something?
Thanks

Tacho don't plug in anywhere.... it wraps around the coil lead a certain number of times and picks up the pulses sent to the plug...converts them into a rpm for the display.

Cheers Mauser.
I know that, but the wire that wraps around the coil must plug into the Vapor and there isn't a plug on the Vapor for it apart from the power cable socket

No problem Mauser and thanks for all the info, i think this vapor must be a specific model for a different bike.
were the tacho cable is meant to be plugged in on a vapor mine has the Temp sensor plug instead.
Everything else is wired up and working nicely now but i will have to survive without the tacho until i can replace this unit

I don't think so, all Vapors are same but for the accessories that come with it, as these are bike specific.
Mind though, you're sure it's a Vapor? TT has got several units which look very similar, same housing even, however the cabling will differ.
