Re: UK 650R meet and camp
That would be a rapid journey of about 500+ km's a day from Casablanca to Cape Town following the west coast more or less as the crow drives (if it drove)
It sure would be an adventure... especially for someone who's to scared to ride to Salisbury .... i'll go 1/2 way with you...

I am not scared , just not that good in navigating urban areas , it all looks the same to me overe here , featureless and overcrowded ...
Burps , if you travel north and we go south , we could meet half way ?

but that means you'll have to wait till next year before you can go, i guess at least you will have time to overcome your fear of leaving the local area...

You mean meet in Ghana?
Fine with me, next year!
Mind though, that would mean you'd have to circumvent Nigeria - which can be done by flight & crate/pallet, bit costly.
Somehow some have/do manage to ride through it though, dunno what the deal is... but won't recommend it, this is the absolute pits of the world! Give me Hanoi every day.... and I've been to neither place

Dodgy?
I'd call it fun, never seen Hyena's being walked as pets in suburban areas!
I'm sure there must be but am not sure, especially without a map in front of me. I seem to remember a chap who rode, from west of Nigeria (what country is this?), North, through the Sahara. He had to get special permission to join a convoy as travelling alone is a nono. Ended up in Algeria I think, or another country just a bit more west than where he started from.
This way you'll cut out the far west bits, Morocco including - which is stunning and friendly enough. Or let me put it this way, you will experience Morocco as 'Heaven' if you come from the south

Re: UK 650R meet and camp
anyhow...
I need to do a trip in August or maybe September and would prefer going south (like a birdie.. ) and at this rate it looks like another solo trip unless the uk piggie pilots pull finger....
back to work

I thought I would bump this in vain hope that some Piggie pilots would want to attempt to get a meeting in the summer.

Re: UK 650R meet and camp
Life is too busy at the moment to commit to another camping weekend as I already have a few between now and September. This together with lots of other stuff means that a two dayer is a no go from me.
Having said that if you, or any other pig rider, wants a day trail riding in Wales shout up and we can try and sort something.
Off soon for a night in the pub, sleeping in the van followed by a days riding and repeat again to come home again Sunday night.
It likely to get messy somewhere along the way.

I'd be up for a BRP meeting up still. I've got a few biking trips booked including some that I'll be doing on my XR like the Haggs Bank Horizons Unlimited weekend on 1st-3rd April, and the Taffy Dakar in May.
Anyone going to one of those?
