Hi all.  Just bought a 2001.  Looked like it still had original tires on it.  A few scuff marks but otherwise a pretty sweet machine.  No real saddle time as yet I live in Iowa and the weather well it's winter.  I have rejetted it and replaced the insulator and the exhaust tip but so far that is about it.  The only real issue I'm having is that it's not street legal and it doesnt appear like it will happen in Iowa.

Welcome, always think your laws are crazy at times...if you make a bike street legal then why can it not be used on the street ? glad the UK are not that strict.... nice

Thanks guys.  In my younger days a little running from the cops wouldn't have bothered me too much.  Anymore though I would just as soon take it a little easy besides where I live it wouldn't take too long for them to track me down.

Welcome !

For a street legal frame buy an US.
I don't know how it's work on Iowa, but in France the importation of a bike is very hard.

Mauser, you need to have a paper to be street legal no ?
In France, "carte grise".
Without this it's dead to ride legaly BRP smile

In the UK you can get a frame and build a bike, as long as it's 90% original spec you can then get a licence plate for the bike....you do have to have a frame number; engine numbers are not so important over here they are not checked on yearly MOT test... BRP smile
