New XR Owner
Hi
Just made the transition from streetbike to XR!! I've owned 2 x GSXR1000, and RC51, 2 x CBR1100XX and various other BMWs. I just rode the XR home to Half Moon Bay. I'm impressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have some questions. It is a 2000 with only 2300 miles on it . Is there anything I should be on the look out for as far as mechanical issues? It has been de smogged and has a white bros exhaust, otherwise pretty stock. How often do I change the oil? What about chain tension, is it 1/2 play like streetbikes or something else? Any tips you can offer would be great
thanks
Kev

Hey Kev:
Welcome aboard, and congrats on picking up a pig!
When you get a chance, fire over some picts of your new hooligan bike.

Hi Mate,
The info you may find on me is old for the XX i've had 2 GXR1000's and an RC-51 since then. But.... If you want to know anything about the blackbird let me know I've had two more than most people!!
Props to Focker for turning me on the "The Pig Pen" The very first thing I learned was to check the kick start bold. Mine was about to fall off so I tightened her up. Thanks for that!!!

Just noticed that you are from the Tri Cities? I grew up in yakima and hunt the bluffs every year for geese. Assume you know what I'm talking about since it is on your doorstep

Hey Kev:
Focker posted this info on posting photos: http://www.xr650rforum.com/brp-picturesgallery-style-f16/image-posting-tutorial-t171.htm
You can also use Photobucket.com, Smugmug, or a host of many other hosts. Many of them are free.
Check'em out!
