I have been thinking about getting one for a while but am not sure if it is worth the expense also does any one know if it will fit with the acerbis tank.

lastly are they available in the UK or do I need to get one from the states (or elsewhere)?

cheers.

Almost sure it will fit with that tank, mine does with all IMS, Safari & std tanks.
Bought mine from XRsOnly, new of course, and have neither will regret it.
Nigh on instant response, lighter on fuel, plenty oomph, simple as pie.

For the US guys - Power barn its a good place to get one from , here in the UK http://www.allensperformance.co.uk/mikjets.html
Just make sure that you get the jetting right , i have found that the popular 25 pj was too rich for the hot season , 22,5 , around 3 turns out on the the fuell screw , 25 in the winter around 2,25 turns out , with a Full FMF Q4 system . 145 MJ , i remember that i needed to change the needle as the one suplied with the carb was miles away , but cannot remember which one i got now m need to have a look , it was what allensperformance have recomended and it made a big difference .
The hardest thing to get right for me is the correct float level , mine is still not 100% , if you start with the factory setting , it will start super easy , when cold and the bike its parked on a flat but it will stumble going up or down hill , and it is impossible to start it once hot on a steep hill , ( loads of swearing and sweat comes to mind ) , the fuell level need to be dropped
as there is too much fuell in the bowl !!! , i dont know yet what the perfect setting is but i am at 1,8mm up from the factory setting , that made the cold start little bit harder but it starts first kick anytime when hot , and importantly on a steep hill !!!

OK this is the perfect needle for UK climate , 9DJY4 , mine came with Y1 which was way too lean , even the Y5 would be good , i am on third clip without the plastic washer spacer , oh and the air jet is 1.2 . Bananatool

You see that is why i have kept the snorkel thingy , in case i need to ride bellow the sea level it will prevent water ingestion razz

Frosty, did you get new throttle cables with the card or do the stock ones work?
only ask as powerban give you the option for longer ones but allens does not have them listed on their site.

I have ordered mine from Power barn , as it was the most complete kit with the better Motion pro cables and the adapters already installed + they have send me 3 Pilot jets and 3 main jets
so i could fine tune it . It was not the cheapest place to get it from plus i was hit by the usual import taxes ripoff so the total cost was about £450 if i remember .

Make sure that you get the adaptors to fit the carbie , and it will need to be tilted slightly to the left to avoid the mechanism rubbing against the fuell tank .

They are fairly knowledgeable about the carburettors , and if they have said that the adaptors are already installed there is nothing to worry about nice

Start with the float level , i would start with lowering the fuell level by rising the adjustment by 1mm from th factory setting and go from there , trust me everybody i know had the same problem with it there is just too much fuell in the bowl on the stock setting , unless you live on a totaly flat area then it might work fine Wink
